Tyson Fury will have around five inches and height, 50lbs in weight and seven inches in reach on Oleksandr Usyk when they meet in the most anticipated heavyweight match-up in some years.

Whilst Usyk has adapted well to the heavyweight division since his four-belt run at cruiserweight, Sergio More believes going in against the self-proclaimed ‘behemoth’ is a step too far.

Speaking on DAZN, former middleweight champion Mora said Fury is too big for Usyk.

‘The Latin Snake’ pointed out that he was more impressed by Fury’s wins in the division than Usyk’s.

Finally, Mora gave the style advantage to Fury to cement his prediction.

Either Fury or Usyk will be crowned undisputed heavyweight champion on February 17.

TYSON FURY has given boxing fans their first glimpse at his secret Saudi training camp for the biggest fight of his career.

The Gypsy King will bid to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in over 25 years in Riyadh next month when he takes on Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury, 35, has essentially gone radio silent ahead of the historic and career-defining showdown.

Unlike camps of yesteryear, Fury isn’t regularly taking to social media to give fans updates.

But he’s broken his mini blackout over the last few days to give his followers some insight into what he’s been doing.

Taking to his Instagram story on Saturday afternoon, the WBC heavyweight champion shared a clip of himself and his team getting a training session in at the gym.

Last month in Saudi Arabia, heavyweights Otto Wallin and Deontay Wilder saw action in separate fights on the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card.

In the co-featured, Wilder suffered an upset loss when he was outboxed over twelve rounds by fellow former world champion Joseph Parker. In the main event, Wallin was battered and stopped in five rounds by Anthony Joshua.

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury holds a twelve round decision win over Wallin, and two hard-fought stoppage wins over Wilder.

John Fury, father of Tyson, was an interested observer in the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card.

He felt Wallin and Wilder were not the same fighters who Tyson defeated several years earlier.

“Otto Wallin was sh!t scared of Anthony Joshua. Fair play to AJ, he looked like a man on a mission. Wallin never turned up, just like Deontay Wilder never [did against Joseph Parker],” John Fury told Seconds Out.

“I’ve never seen anything as bad as Wilder in my life. I was looking at two different people in Wallin and Wilder – those were not the people who fought Tyson. Tyson probably took everything out of them.”

The 35-year-old Fury is scheduled to return to the ring on February 17, in a high-stakes undisputed fight against IBO, WBA, WBO, IBF Oleksandr Usyk.

Last October, Fury had a lackluster performance against MMA veteran Francis Ngannou in a crossover boxing match.

Usyk is a completely different kind of fighter in terms of size and abilities.

Father John has already cautioned his son to make the necessary adjustments to overcome a fighter with the style of Usyk.

“He needs a different style altogether with Usyk, he’s totally different. If you go back to, many years ago, you can watch it on the internet, it’s Gerry Cooney-Michael Spinks,” John Fury said.

“Michael Spinks is a blown-up light-heavyweight weighing just over fourteen stone at the time. Gerry Cooney is six-foot-seven, eighteen stone, look what happened. These are speed-men, you just can’t have that straight-up, going forward, looking to land a bomb on these kind of fighters because guess what? They can see it coming and they will avoid it.

“Usyk is very good, he is a good mover, he’s got a brain, he’s got good footwork and the style for Deontay Wilder and Francis Ngannou isn’t going to cut it for a man like Usyk.”

Lennox Lewis has questioned whether Anthony Joshua ‘deserves’ a shot at the undisputed heavyweight title if he defeats Francis Ngannou.

The British boxing legend, 58, is a three-time heavyweight champion and the last to hold the undisputed championship.

Joshua could potentially have a chance to become the best heavyweight on the planet after he fights former UFC champion Ngannou in Saudi Arabia in March.

Just a month earlier, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are fighting to become the divison’s undisputed champion.

Writing on social media, Lewis doubted whether Joshua should be given the chance to fight the winner of these two.

He said: ‘OK, Eddie Hearn, I know this is the promoter in you speaking, so I’ll break it down like the boxing fan I am.

Anthony Joshua

‘If AJ beats Ngannou, which he should, does that elevate him to a shot at undisputed? Beating Wallin and Ngannou? There’s a much better case for the winner of Joseph Parker vs Zhilei Zhang.

‘And if AJ gets through Ngannou, and Usyk wins undisputed, is the appetite for Usyk vs Joshua 3 out there? If Fury becomes undisputed, the man says he’s vacating all belts but the WBC and Ring so Fury in effect becomes last undisputed until someone else can Thanos them back together.

‘I still want to see AJ fight Fury and Wilder… those are big fights. But like I told Mike Tyson, if you keep fighting guys like Lou Savarese, you will NEVER be ready for me.’

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Frank Warren is prepared to make a sensational million pound bet with Eddie Hearn over their rival Matchroom and Queensberry companies.

The legendary boxing promoter was speaking with Mail Sport’s Charlotte Daly after the Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou press conference in London.

‘We’ve got to sort out the weights,’ Warren said. ‘Because there’s five fights, there will be a winner one of the teams will win unless we get a draw.

‘To make it a little bit more spicy, I’d like to have a wager on it with [Hearn] as well. [I’d be willing to bet] a million pounds.’

Anthony Joshua is rooting for Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk so they can finally put on an all-British blockbuster for the fans.

‘The Gypsy King’ will put his WBC title on the line in the hopes

of winning Usyk’s WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight belts at ‘Ring of Fire’ in Saudi Arabia on February 17.

Whoever wins will become the first four-belt undisputed champion in heavyweight history and will also walk away with a new belt made to mark the occasion.

The winner could move on to a fight against Joshua or former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou after they clash at ‘Knockout Chaos’ in the Middle Eastern country on March 8.

AJ expects to beat Ngannou, and then be matched with Usyk again.

The Ukrainian famously outpointed Joshua and took his three heavyweight titles in September 2021 before repeating the feat 11 months later.

“It’s going to be a good fight,” Joshua told Sky Sports on Monday.

“I think Usyk edges it. I’m not really bothered. I just want them both to be healthy and leave the ring. It’s a tough game. So that’s all I can ask for, that they leave the ring healthy.

“In terms of how it goes, it doesn’t affect my life, in a way. I’m not like one of those fans that starts crying because someone won or lost.

“It is what it is. Tomorrow comes around. Good luck to both of them.”

For Joshua, a long-awaited showdown with Fury is the preference, even though he expects Usyk to become the first man to beat his compatriot next month.

He added: “Probably the opportunity to fight Tyson Fury.

“I think that’s a better fight for the fans and myself.”

Fury vs Usyk has a two-way rematch clause. So, even if ‘The Joker’ emerges victoriously from ‘Ring of Fire’ he’ll have to beat Fury again before a potential trilogy fight with Joshua can take place.

In the meantime, Joshua is expected to target the IBF title, which is set to be made vacant when Fury and Usyk confirm they’ll rematch rather than face mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic.

Anthony Joshua will face Francis Ngannou on March 8 in Saudi Arabia; the fight takes place three weeks after Tyson Fury takes on Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed heavyweight title clash; promoter Frank Warren says the winners of the two bouts could face each other next

The winner of Anthony Joshua’s fight with Francis Ngannou could challenge the victor of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s undisputed heavyweight title clash later this year, according to promoter Frank Warren.

Two-time heavyweight world champion Joshua on Monday had his bout with former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou confirmed for March 8 in Saudi Arabia, three weeks after WBO, IBF, and WBA belt-holder Usyk takes on WBC titlist Fury in Riyadh.

Most had expected that the undisputed clash would be followed by a rematch, but at Monday’s Joshua-Ngannou press conference in London, it was suggested the winners of the two fights could be matched next

Turki Alalshikh of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, who has brokered a series of high-profile fights in Riyadh, said: “You will see the result of this match will connect about the result of the 17 February – this is our idea.”

Warren then added: “For the winner, the big fight’s happening on February 17, with Tyson and Usyk.

“The winner of that – would we like to see them with the winner of this fight? Everybody in boxing would love to see that.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will compete for five belts next month.

The highly anticipated heavyweight fight scheduled for February 17 was already historic due to the fact all four major heavyweight world titles will be on the line.

Fury will put his WBC belt on the line against WBA, IBF and WBO champion Usyk, with the winner walking away from the Ring of Fire event as the first-ever four-belt undisputed heavyweight champion.

Now, their fight has just got slightly bigger due to the creation of a new belt to mark the occasion.

On Monday, Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou took centre stage at a press conference to officially announce their fight in Saudi Arabia on March 8.

Chairman of General Authority for Entertainment His Excellency Turki Alalshikh kicked things off with a speech about his goals in 2024, which include putting on a light-heavyweight undisputed fight between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.

His Excellency rounded things off by pointing to a big screen, and showing the heavyweights on stage what they could fight for later this year.

“I want to show Joshua and Ngannou what’s waiting for them,” he said.

A picture of the new undisputed heavyweight champion title belt that will be on the line during Fury vs Usyk was unveiled for the first time.

It was accompanied by text that pointed out its unique features and explained the tiny details that set the belt apart from typical boxing titles.

Hall of Fame boxing promoter Frank Warren subsequently revealed Fury and Usyk will compete for the belt before the winner fights Joshua or Ngannou later this year.

“Whoever wins the [Fury vs Usyk] fight has got the belt,” he said.

“It’s not one any governing body is going to take away, they don’t have mandatories.

“The winner is the unified champion, so anyone who fights him will be fighting for that right.”

Francis Ngannou has vowed to show his performance against Tyson Fury wasn’t a fluke as he prepares to face Anthony Joshua.

Fury was shockingly taken the distance by former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou in their crossover fight last year. The Brit was expected to cruise past Ngannou and fight Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed belts two months after, but he was dropped and only won by one point in a scrutinised decision.

Fans were quick to downplay Ngannou’s performance by insisting that Fury didn’t train properly for the fight and had an off-night. Ngannou has responded to his critics by tweeting: “He got lucky last time. He won’t be able to block out the noise this time. He can’t do it again, can he? We’ll see. Camp has started.”

Joshua was expected to face Deontay Wilder after knocking out Otto Wallin last month but their two-fight deal was ruined when Wilder lost to Joseph Parker. Ngannou took Wilder’s spot and will now face Joshua on March 8 in Saudi Arabia to close out Riyadh season. Ngannou was impressed by Joshua’s recent win but explained why their fight will be different.

Tyson Fury

“He looked amazing, respect to him and congratulations to him. He was doing his job properly, his speed was there and he was very sharp. On the other hand, I think there wasn’t a response in front of him. I think I will have a better response in front of him that will put him in uncomfortable situations and positions,” Ngannou said on The MMA Hour.

“Things will change and be different. I will not just stay there and look at him, it’s going to be different. I’m going to throw some bombs out there for him to deal with. I think he’s going to be mindful of what he’s doing. Nobody still knows what I can do, that was my first fight in boxing and like anyone else I am just improving. The gap of improvement for a beginner like me is huge.”

Joshua wants to challenge either Fury or Oleksandr Usyk for their undisputed heavyweight world titles if he beats Ngannou. The former UFC champion is hoping to rematch Fury if he beats ‘AJ’ insisted their second fight must take place by October, which seems unlikely given Fury is locked into a two-fight deal with Usyk.

Unified Heavyweight World Champion Oleksandr Usyk is preparing for his toughest test to date as he aims to become the first undisputed title-holder in the division since the dawn of the four-belt era.

As we’ve seen from the Ukrainian in the past, he has opted to use some unconventional training methods to ready himself for a showdown with Tyson Fury.

Usyk’s height and weight are a key factor for many as a reason to doubt whether he can defeat Fury, a man six inches taller than him, who weighed in over fifty pounds heavier than the Ukrainian in their respective last outings.

However, ‘The Cat’ is famed for his tremendous boxing IQ and masterful footwork, which aided him in victory over Anthony Joshua on two occasions.

Ahead of those clashes, Usyk used intriguing training techniques such as coin-catching, hammer throwing and juggling to improve his co-ordination and power and once again is taking a unique approach to training camp ahead of his battle with ‘The Gypsy King’.

On Instagram, the 36-year-old posted a video of himself throwing and catching kettlebells, once again indicating his talents in co-ordination, rhythm and strength – skills which he will attempt to showcase against his much larger opponent when they meet next month, captioning the clip with his own take on a famous Muhammad Ali

tyson fury and oleksandr usyk

The slick southpaw will face Fury on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in a historic contest, where the victor will truly cement their place amongst the greats in the history of the heavyweight division.

As the deadline approaches, further details are expected to be announced imminently with yet another blockbuster undercard hotly-anticipated.

catchphrase.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to fight next month to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.

Usyk brings the WBA, WBO and IBF belts to the table, pitted against Fury’s WBC for the historic contest that will, in many minds, show the best of a generation.

With two tricky styles, the fight could be won on game-plan alone, and thus a lot of eyes are on how each man prepares. Someone who knows them in the gym well is Martin Bakole.

The heavyweight contender is a regular sparring partner of Fury’s – although not for this particular bout – and has claimed to have stopped Usyk in the gym in the past.

Speaking to IFL TV, Bakole said he can see a path to victory for both of his former sparring partners but ultimately sat on the fence when it comes to the final result.

Whilst Usyk has put an open call out for sparring partners who feel they can emulate the giant Brit, Fury’s camp has spoken to cruiserweight king Jai Opetaia as well as rising heavyweight star Moses Itauma.

Many fans feel both men showed vulnerabilities in their last outings, making this one, set for Riyadh on February 17, all the more intriguing.
