Terence Crawford’s

As it appears, things seem a bit dour for the Green Bay Packers. Following last week’s win over the Dallas Cowboys, they faced the San Francisco 49ers at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It’s certain to weigh heavily on the heart of one of its most devoted and die-hard fans. Early in the morning, Terence Crawford shared a few pictures of himself.

A keen follower of the Wisconsin-based football team, not long ago, ‘Bud’ entertained fans with whacky notes as the Packers went on to overpower the Cowboys. For today, the unified welterweight champion had worn a Packers outfit in the most resplendent green and gold. He said, “Yall know the vibes!!! Go Pack Go!!!” It didn’t take too long for reactions to pour in.

Terence Crawford goes Green and Gold

Among those who commented, a few questioned his choice of jersey. There were some who, for obvious reasons, stood at the opposite end of the fence and wished for the 49ers’ victory. Then a couple of fans stuck with what their icon does best, in the ring.

In an apparent dig at the world champion, the following user found it awkward that he couldn’t wear a jersey with his name.

But soon ‘Bud’ responded that gear was a gift he received from someone, and he found it fabulous to go with.

Echoing almost similar lines, this user also mentioned how one could simply miss taking any notice of Terence Crawford and then come to the realization that he is the best boxer in the world.

Clearly, that’s one ecstatic bunch. As far as the match is concerned, the Packers lost the divisional playoff to the 49ers, 21-24. Nevertheless, signing off for the day, ‘Bud’ Crawford wrote, “Dam, that was a good game. Wish we could have got the win, but dam, this one hurts. Good night!

The 36-year-old Omaha-born boxing superstar recently announced his return to the gym. Fans last saw him in the ring on July 29, when he defeated Errol Spence Jr. As it appears, a mouth-watering line-up against middleweight champion Tim Tszyu could be underway. It’s a fight that’s seemingly feasible given ‘Bud’ needs to climb only a division above.

Four-division world champion Roy Jones Jr has looked ahead to Terence Crawford’s next potential bout after speculation that a rematch with Errol Spence Jr will now not take place.

‘Bud’ Crawford put in a generational performance when he dominated and stopped Spence last July, becoming the first four-belt welterweight champion and the first multi-divisional four-belt undisputed champion as a result.

However, shortly after the clash, Crawford was stripped of the IBF welterweight world title, with 26-year-old Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis being promoted as the new title-holder.

Now the pair are being linked to an All-American showdown and Roy Jones Jr told YSM Sports Media that the hard-hitting Ennis could have what it takes to hand Crawford his first career defeat in what would likely be the latter’s final outing at 147lbs.

Ennis has been vocal in his call-outs of Crawford, demanding that the arguable pound-for-pound king attempts to regain his old belt.

However, it seems that ‘Bud’ is less keen on the idea, favouring a move up to super-welterweight or a potential three-division jump to super-middleweight to face the legendary Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed 168lbs throne.

Top Rank promoted Terence Crawford’s career for better parts of a decade until they split after Bud’s contract was complete soon after he beat Shawn Porter in 2021.

As the deal was coming to a close, relations became contentious.

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum said Crawford wasn’t a pay-per-view draw and that they lost money on every Crawford fight. Crawford, meanwhile, said he wouldn’t take any pay cuts and called for his release. By January 2022, Crawford sued Top Rank for breach of contract and claimed racial bias.

After a one-fight deal on BLK Prime, Crawford joined forces with Al Haymon and Premier Boxing Champions to land the career-defining fight he was seeking against Errol Spence Jr.

Crawford scored a sensational stoppage win against Spence on July 29 to win the undisputed welterweight title. In addition to a rematch versus Spence, Crawford seemingly has a series of high-profile fights lined up for him including Jermell Charlo at 154 pounds and Canelo Alvarez at 168 pounds, among others.

Crawford is even entertaining a fight against Teofimo Lopez Jr., who is tied to Top Rank.

Arum does not have any regrets about missing out on perhaps the most lucrative phase of the 36-year-old Crawford’s career.

“No. Because Terence Crawford is a great talent. We always said that. The question is can you match up his economic demands with his actual marketability, and we were not able to do that. We lost a lot of money promoting his fights,” Arum told BoxingScene.com in an interview.

“I wish him well. But I’m not prepared, and my company is not prepared, to take those risks because at least with Terence it never worked out economically, even though his performances were brilliant. They’re still brilliant.”

After previously fighting to paltry PPV numbers, Crawford’s clash against Spence was a commercial success generating nearly 700,000 PPV buys domestically and more than $21,000,000 in ticket sales.

“Terence was extraordinarily good at fighting Spence. They did very well economically but if you ran it back, I really don’t believe that it would do the numbers that the first fight did,” said Arum.

Recently, Errol Spence Jr.’s cataract surgery became a hot topic. This wasn’t just a routine medical update; it intertwined closely with his in-ring performance. Recall his significant loss to Terence Crawford, stirring debates across the boxing community. Spence, a formidable welterweight, attributed his defeat to his impaired vision.

But, amidst swirling discussions and speculations, Crawford’s response stood out, not for its elaborateness, but for its brevity. Oddly enough, it’s not the words said, but the silence that follows, which often speaks volumes in sports. What did Crawford say?

Terence Crawford isn’t entertaining any excuses

Errol Spence Jr.’s revelation about his recent eye surgery shed new light on his performance against Terence Crawford. “It’s been past due. Sh!t was covering my eye. Why [do] you think I got hit with so many jabs and hooks?” Spence openly admitted in an Instagram story. His candor suggested that the cataracts significantly hindered his vision, impacting his ability to defend against Crawford’s strikes. This admission, a rare glimpse into the vulnerabilities of a professional athlete, sparked widespread discussions among fans and experts alike.

Amidst this buzz, Terence Crawford’s reaction emerged, startling in its simplicity. He took to Twitter, delivering a two-word statement that cut through the noise: “No comment.” This brief tweet, contrasting starkly with Spence’s detailed explanation, left the audience pondering. Was it a sign of indifference, a strategic move to stay out of the controversy, or a subtle acknowledgment of Spence’s struggles? The ambiguity of Crawford’s words only fueled further intrigue in this high-profile boxing drama.

But what did Errol’s former opponent had to say about his surgery?

Yordenis Ugas shows solidarity with Spence’s health struggles

In the tightly-knit world of professional boxing, camaraderie often shines through rivalry. This was evident when Yordenis Ugas, a former opponent, expressed his genuine concern for Errol Spence Jr.’s health. Michael Benson, an online editor for talksports, shared Spence’s Instagram story on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting Spence in a wheelchair, his eye covered in bandages.

There is no denying that Terence Crawford is one of the best fighters boxing has to offer today. Doubling down on his boxing acumen, former heavyweight champion, Lennox Lewis has suggested how ‘Bud’ can possibly beat, another abled fighter of today, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez

After beating Julius Indongo in 2017 to become undisputed in the super lightweight class and then defeating Errol Spence Jr., to become undisputed in the welterweight division, he is one of the very few 2x undisputed champions in boxing history. In the wake of such a feat, in hopes of turning the 2x into 3x, the ambitious Crawford called on the unified super middleweight champion, Canelo Álvarez. But can Crawford really defeat Canelo, who’s only been defeated twice in his 64-fight career? Here is what Lewis has to say.

Lennox Lewis is all praises for Terence Crawford

“It’s a possibility,” remarked the British legend to Fight Hub TV. “Let me tell you about Terence Crawford, that man is Kung Fu. You know, when you watch a martial arts movie, you know, you think of him, because he’s full with his style, great with his style. He’s got power, he’s got poise, he’s got speed, he’s got movement,” noted Lewis, making a splendid case for Bud. But is that enough to beat Canelo, the Mexican fighter who’s considered to be one of the best in the sport?

Lewis argued that there is a way to defeat Canelo that hardly any fighter has learned. Bivol’s victory over the Jalisco fighter was attributed to the former’s weight. Mayweather fought a Canelo who was still young in the sport, while ‘Money’ was seemingly in his prime, coming off a strong streak of undefeated fights.

So, what is this way that Lewis suggests? It’s the art of ‘jabs’.

The Lennox Lewis Jab

‘The Lion’ as many call him, was famous and even feared for his signature jab that he perfected early in his career. The signature straight right hand has fazed the likes of Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. Now, as he looks back at how ‘the jab’ pushed him to the top of boxing, leaving him defeated only twice in his 45-fight-long career, he thinks the jab is what could dethrone Alvarez.

He further explained, “I know every great heavyweight has a jab. Even the lighter weights, they’re not using the jabs. They’re forgetting that the jab is the main weapon of a fighter. The first weapon of a fighter is a jab, and after that, it’s a right-hand hook, uppercut. But first, you gotta establish your jab.”

Terence Crawford currently awaits a date for his rematch with Errol Spence Jr. Once that happens, it remains to be seen if he gets a fight with Canelo. Who do you think would win between Bud and Canelo? Let us know in the comments section below
