Former junior middleweight champion Tim Tszyu believes he is ready to face either Terence Crawford or Errol Spence Jr. in a future fight.

Crawford and Spence battled at 147lbs to decide the undisputed crown at welterweight, with Crawford emerging victorious.

While a rematch could one day take place, ‘Bud’ is moving up to super welterweight, and Spence could follow him.

Tszyu had been due to fight Vergil Ortiz Jr., but the bout was cancelled as doctors believed a cut suffered in his split-decision loss to Sebastian Fundora had not sufficiently healed.

Fundora and Spence could reportedly meet to contest the WBO and WBC straps at 154lbs, and Tszyu gave an update on his own plans.

“I can definitely go straight back into a world title fight because I didn’t come out of the Fundora fight as a loser,” he said, reported Fox Sports Australia .

“The whole world knows that.

“I didn’t get bashed. Even though Fundora won, I was hurting him.

“Did you see his face after the fight? See his nose? Other than a few bruises, I was fresh.

“I just had that cut. So of course, I can still go straight back into a big fight.

“I think Spence beats Fundora and I think Crawford wins as well, but it won’t be an easy fight.

“But I honestly believe I’m the king at 154.”

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh is currently the most sought-after matchmaker. Whether it is bringing the much-anticipated heavyweight undisputed fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk to fruition, or successfully convincing long-time rival promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren to sign on the dotted line for the Matchroom vs Queensberry 5v5 event, there is no doubt he is giving boxing fans what they want. Now, he is on a mission to revitalize boxing and has another epic matchup in mind – a battle between two champions with undisputed status: Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, HE Turki Alalshikh had mentioned that he is “working on Canelo and Crawford card” in America, and wants to book it for the “end of the year or beginning of the second year.”

Canelo, after putting on a boxing clinic against Jaime Munguia on Cinco De Mayo weekend, is patiently waiting on the sidelines for a lucrative offer for his next fight. On the other hand, Crawford, after a long period of inactivity since his undisputed fight against Errol Spence Junior, will be going up against super-welterweight champion Israil Madrimov in August as he looks to become a four-division world champion. One question on everybody’s mind is: Will Crawford be able to put on the weight to meet Canelo Alvarez at 168 next? ‘Bud’s’ last opponent in the ring, Spence Jr., thinks “he can pull it off.”

In an interview with FightHype. Errol Spence Junior stated that he would be rooting for the former undisputed welterweight champion to beat Canelo Alvarez. Not letting the devastating ninth-round knockout loss to Crawford last year cloud his judgment, Spence Jr. wants the Nebraska native champion to achieve “greatness” in the battle between two P4P greats.

“If Crawford wants to challenge himself to be great, let him try to be great. I’m with it. I’d be going for Bud. I don’t know if he’d win or lose, but if anybody can pull it off, he can pull it off. He’s chasing greatness,” he said.

Crawford is already putting on 21 pounds to fight the WBA junior middleweight champion Madrimov on August 3rd. Therefore, gaining another fourteen pounds to get to 168 doesn’t seem like a far-fetched idea.

“Canelo went up to 175 and fought Kovalev and the other guy [Dmitry Bivol], too. If he can do it, and he started at 147, if he can do it, why can’t Crawford do it,” the former unified welterweight champion further said.

Interestingly, Canelo started his career in the welterweight division. He moved all the way up to light-heavyweight to assert his dominance. However, ‘Cinnamon’s last fight in that weight class ended in defeat against Dmitry Bivol. Therefore, if Crawford wants to be on the same path, Canelo has already paved the way.

On that note, Canelo’s former promoter, the head of Matchroom Boxing, believes that a matchup against another great talent, David Benavidez, will be a more credible fight for Canelo than one against Crawford. But why does Eddie Hearn think that way?

Crawford’s weight will be an issue for Alvarez, says Eddie Hearn

In an interview with FightHub TV, Hearn said, “I think he’d pick Benavidez over Crawford because he knows he’d get the credit for that win, whereas he might not vs a guy three divisions lower.”

Undoubtedly, Crawford can match Alvarez in boxing skills. But, the weight gap is a cause for concern. While Crawford’s last fight was against Spence Jr at 147, Alvarez has been fighting at 168 since 2018. Moreover, ‘Canelito’ has no plans to cut down on his weight. This puts the onus on Crawford to jump from 154 lbs to 168 lbs. However, Hearn thinks that would be detrimental for Crawford, as Canelo will overpower and outsize him in the 168-pound weight class.

“When I met Saul, he wasn’t crazy on that [Crawford] fight,” Hearn had said in an earlier interview with talkSPORT. “He just felt that you have got a welterweight coming up to light-middleweight, going up to super-middleweight, and that he wouldn’t get any credit for that win,” he added.

Moreover, taking Crawford’s age and long periods of inactivity since 2020 into consideration, should he be taking the fight against Canelo? Let us know in the comments section below.

Terence Crawford looks to build on his Hall of Fame resume by winning a title in a fourth weight class. He faces Israil Madrimov for the WBA super welterweight and interim WBC super welterweight titles on August 3. The fight is expected to air on DAZN.

Crawford has fought for gold since 2014, when he won the WBO lightweight title. He won super lightweight gold in 2015, eventually becoming undisputed in that division. Moving to welterweight in 2018, Crawford dominated at 147, also becoming undisputed in that division after beating Errol Spence Jr. last July.

“Bud” is one of three male fighters to become a two-division undisputed champions in the four-belt era. A pound-for-pound great, Crawford can separate himself from the rest with a win.

Madrimov beat Magomed Kurbanov in March to win the vacant WBA super welterweight title. The two-time gold medalist from Uzbekistan is fighting one of his favorite boxers in Crawford. While he may be starstruck, “The Dream” will be all business on fight night.

Terence Crawford next fight tickets 2024 vs. Israil Madrimov

When Terence Crawford fights, tickets usually sell out fast. Add the likes of Jared Anderson, Isaac Cruz, and a fight featuring Andy Ruiz Jr. and Jarrell Miller, fight fans in California should come in droves.

Crawford vs. Madrimov takes place in BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Formerly Banc of California Stadium, the home of Los Angeles and Angel City FC can hold up to 22,000 people.

Terence Crawford‘s last fight was three weight classes lower than Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez‘s, but the two-weight undisputed champion has made it clear he wants to face the super-middleweight ruler before he hangs up the gloves.

Crawford is coming off the best win of his

career, a dominant performance against Errol Spence Jr to capture all the belts at 147lbs. At 36-years-old, ‘Bud’ is chasing legacy defining fights only and is angling for a shot at Canelo’s undisputed title at 168lbs.

The Mexican has been dismissive of the bout, claiming he wouldn’t get credit for beating the naturally smaller man. But in boxing money talks and Turki Alalshikh has announced plans to make it happen in Saudi Arabia in the next twelve months.

Crawford’s training partner and three-weight world champion, Shakur Stevenson, told Say Cheese that his fellow American has the power to hurt Canelo and will get his hand raised if the two do meet in the ring.

“I stand on that [Crawford beats Canelo]. I stand on that. I’m just speaking off from what I’ve seen with ‘Bud’. I’m in the gym with him, I get to watch him all the time, there have been times where I’ve been around him every day, I’ve been in training camps with ‘Bud’. I’ve seen him hurt heavyweights, I’ve seen him hit heavyweights and they go on shaky legs.

I just don’t agree with the logic that ‘Bud’ can’t hurt Canelo or he hasn’t got enough to keep Canelo off of him. I think ‘Bud’ is the better boxer IQ wise, I think he’s strong and I think he can beat Canelo Alvarez, that’s just my opinion and until someone can show me otherwise then I believe what I believe.”

Crawford is next in action on August 3 when he makes his 154lbs debut against WBA champion Israil Madrimov. Canelo last fought in May in a comfortable outing against Jaime Munguia and is expected to fight again in September with an opponent yet to be announced.

Terence Crawford has seen the skillset of Shakur Stevenson up close and personal.

The two world champions are friends and occasional sparring partners despite the difference in weight, often sharpening their tools ahead of high-level title bouts.

Stevenson is currently WBC Champion at 135, the division in which ‘Bud’ Crawford won his first world honours before conquering 140 and 147.

With some of the best defence in boxing today, not many at lightweight are given much of a chance of getting close to him, but Crawford is under no illusions of the threat of one Gervonta Davis.

Speaking on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, the two-weight undisputed champion praised ‘Tank.

“One thing I can say about Tank is he’s smart, he can box, and he’s explosive. I see that being Shakur’s toughest fight, because of the power. Everybody know Tank punchin’.”

Stevenson-Davis is a much sought after fight, one with brewing social media beef and an incredible level of talent. Both undefeated, should they meet just now it would be a lightweight unification with Davis bringing the WBA belt to the table.

Unfortunately, promotional politics have stood in the way in the past. That may change given Stevenson has one fight left in his deal with Top Rank. In the meantime, he defends his belt in July against Artem Harutyunyan.

First up is ‘Tank’, who faces fellow undefeated southpaw and the man who beat Harutyunyan, Frank Martin, on June 15.

Deontay Wilder will no longer be competing on the Israil Madrimov vs Terence Crawford undercard on August 3.

Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh was lining up a fight between Wilder and Jared Anderson in Los Angeles provided he defeated Zhilei Zhang.

However, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ was knocked out in the fifth round by Zhang last weekend, spelling an end to Alalshikh’s plans.

It now seems highly likely that Wilder will hang up his gloves after admitting before the fight that defeat could spell the end of his career.

But one man’s loss is another man’s gain – and Martin Bakole has now been given the call to face Anderson instead.

The Congolese boxer has been steadily climbing up the heavyweight rankings after falling to defeat for the first and only time in his 21-fight (20-1) career against Michael Hunter in 2018.

Bakole recently recorded a career-best win against former world title challenger Carlos Takam in October.

However, he has struggled to land a big fight since.

He was in negotiations to face Joe Joyce next but according to his trainer and manager Billy Nelson, ‘The Juggernaut’ pulled out of the fight to pursue a domestic dust-up with Derek Chisora on July 27.

“As expected Joe Joyce has pulled out of his arranged fight with Martin Bakole to fight Chisora,” Nelson wrote on X.

“For a man who claimed he crippled Martin with body shots, you’d think he’d gladly fight him.

“When you talk s**** you need to back it up, didn’t fancy not sleeping for another 9 weeks.”

The difficulty of finding a fight for Bakole has led to his promoter Ben Shalom branding him ‘the most avoided heavyweight’ on the planet.

“Martin Bakole is the most avoided man in the glamour division and can beat every heavyweight on the planet on his day,” he wrote in his exclusive talkSPORT column.

“The Congolese puncher is an incredibly dangerous fight for anyone at his weight.

“He has all of the physical attributes needed to reach the top of the sport.

Eminem is set to perform at the Riyadh Season Card headlined by Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov on August 3 in Los Angeles, his Excellency Turki Alalshikh has revealed.

Crawford, 36, is seeking a world title in a fourth different weight division when he takes on the recently-crowned WBA light-middleweight world champion, Madrimov, at the BMO Stadium.

Slim Shady is no stranger to big boxing fights as he surprised everybody by joining the American fighters ring walk before his win over Errol Spence Jr last July,

And now he is set to hype up the crowd again for the Kingdom’s first boxing event outside of Saudi Arabia, which also features a heavyweight bout between former world champion Andy Ruiz and Jarrell Miller.

The announcement of the rappers performance was made via Alalshikh’s X (formerly Twitter) page with a simple graphic.

The Saudi boxing chief is known for putting on a spectacle, just last month American rapper JID performed in style before Oleksandr Usyk beat Tyson Fury to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four belt era.

And now he has stepped it up a notch by calling on legendary rapper Eminem to put on a show before Crawford and Madrimov take to the ring.

He won the belt via a fifth round stoppage of Magomed Kurbanov on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s victory over Francis Ngannou.

But he faces a huge task to keep it against Crawford who has won all of his 40 professional fights and knows what it takes to be a world champion.

The American has been an undisputed champion at both light-welterweight and welterweight, as well as once holding a lightweight world title.

Also on the card is Ruiz, who produces one of the biggest shocks in the sports history by beating Anthony Joshua five years ago.

He takes on the man he replaced on short notice for that fight, Miller, in what promises to be a big battle in LA.

Ruiz has only fought twice in the last four years, but will have to put his friendship with Miller aside if he wants to earn himself another title shot.

Oleksandr Usyk is backing Terence Crawford to beat Canelo Alvarez if the pair ever agree to stage a contest.

Since Crawford defeated Errol Spence last summer, he’s constantly been linked to a showdown with Canelo but first he must deal with Israil Madrimov on August 3.

As it stands, Canelo has no fight planned after retaining his super-middleweight titles against Jaime Munguia last month.

The Mexican star is one of boxing’s most targeted fighters with numerous contenders chasing him, but he’ll be a keen spectator when Crawford fights later this summer.

“Terence is my friend, but he’s a crazy man. I say Terence wins,” said Usyk when speaking to the 3 Knockdown Rule podcast.

“Listen, Terence is a different man. Terence works in two stances; he’s a very, very, very smart man.”

Eminem just added another performance to his schedule, and this time, he’s stepping into the ring (almost).

Boxing legend Terence Crawford is throwing down for the WBO 154lbs title against Israil Madrimov on August 3 in Los Angeles, and Eminem is joining the festivities.

The entire fight card has been announced, and Shady’s name is shining bright as a special guest performer. This isn’t Eminem’s first foray into the boxing world. He famously walked Crawford out to his last fight against Errol Spence and flew into Saudi Arabia to witness the Fury vs Ngannou showdown the previous year. Marshall’s passion for the sport is no secret.

This is the second confirmed Eminem performance this summer, following the news of his appearance at the Formula 1 race in October in Texas. Looks like Shady’s got a busy schedule, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Toney ‘crucifies’ Canelo: Crawford won’t just beat him, he’ll knock him out

While Saudi Arabia and its ‘petrodollars’ are clamoring to have the star fight that everyone wants, Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford, former world champion James Toney appeared on the scene and gave his blunt verdict on the possible winner of that fight.

The Saudis, through Turki Alalshikh, the highest authority in the Arab country in charge of training festivals, has set his eye on Crawford after he defeated Errol Spencer Jr at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise (Nevada, United States) in July 2023.

Since then, the objective of the Asian leader has been to link him with Canelo Alvarez to get the fight to Saudi Arabia by the end of this year or early 2025.

Toney does not back Canelo

Beyond this business desire, the one who came out to give his verdict on the future fight between these huge names was the former champion James Toney, who predicted the worst for the Mexican if he enters the ring with the American.

Toney was interviewed by ‘ES NEWS’ and he did not mince his words and said that Crawford will not only beat Canelo, but will beat him by knockout.

Another who spoke along the same lines was another former champion, Tim Bradley, who expressed the same opinion as Toney and said: “Crawford beats anyone he gets in the ring with. Anybody. Nobody beats Terence.”

Before that supposed fight, Crawford has a bout against Israel Madrimov coming up, in which the WBA and WBO super welterweight titles will be at stake. The fight will be on August 3 in Los Angeles
