Celebrated as one of the most decorated athletes, Simone Biles has etched her name in history with her achievements. 2013 saw her emerge victorious in the Olympics. Since then, the star has been a household favorite. Even after her stint at the Tokyo Olympics, where she walked away from the stage owing to mental health issues, fans stood by her decision. And now, after an epic comeback at the World Championships, Biles has only sparked more excitement surrounding her return.

Simone Biles as fans know her

The gymnast had it rough in her childhood. Born to a mother who suffered from addiction and being abandoned, she and her four siblings found their way to foster homes. Eventually, grandparents Nellie and Ronald Biles adopted Simone and her sister Adria.

The star gymnast began her longtime tryst with the sport at the age of 6, when she first witnessed gymnastics during a day trip. Since then, Biles has been inseparable from the bars and beams to the extent that her parents ended up building a gym for her. The gym now hosts many aspiring gymnasts who aim to make it big like Biles.

Now, after multiple gold medals and Olympic appearances, the 26-year-old takes pride in mentoring young gymnasts and spending time with her family. Married to NFL icon Jonathan Owens in a lavish ceremony, Biles loves to support him from the sidelines during his matches.

Little-known facts about Simone Biles

Despite her popularity among the masses, the bubbly gymnast has many fun facts about her that fans may or may not know about. Starting from some of her quirks surrounding the sport, the gymnast has an entire turtle collection that she keeps up for good luck. She sometimes also carries a statue of Saint Sebastian, the patron saint of athletes, during matches.

When it comes to her personal preferences, Biles once stated how she did not like cats and was afraid of spiders. Tragically, her dislike for cats was probably because of a childhood incident involving her neighborhood cat being well-fed while she and her siblings starved with their biological mother. On the bright side, the star loves dogs, grew up with German Shepherds, and now has two French Bulldogs.

Biles also grew up with a crush on Hollywood star Zac Efron. While she couldn’t sing and avoided activities like karaoke, she loved dancing both on the gymnastics floor and at the club. Tying up her love for music in general, the Olympian even admitted to listening to songs while preparing for performances along with her teammates.

What about her quirks surrounding sports?

In an interview with Vogue once, the gymnastics GOAT revealed some surprising facts surrounding gymnastics and other sports. If there was one sport she wished she could learn, it would be snowboarding. When it came to her field, Biles has five gymnastics moves named after her – one on the balance beam, two on the floor exercise, and two on the vault.

Another interesting thing about her gymnastics outfit is that while she has her apparel line associated with ‘GK Elite’, her competition leotards have a special feature. Amidst all the bling, her costumes often have the head of a goat made out of rhinestones to signify her status in the sport.

Such is Biles’ legacy that the newer generation also looks up to her contributions to the sport. With many upcoming gymnasts who keep her close as a mentor, friend, and inspiration, the star’s high position is justified. And that’s why she’s one of the most successful sportspersons to make it to the top.

Simone Biles cheered on husband Jonathan Owens from the sidelines as his team the Green Bay Packers competed in the playoffs, and expressed her support for him when they lost.

On Jan. 20, his team the Green Bay Packers lost 21-24 to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL playoffs, eliminating them from 2024 Super Bowl contention. A day later, the seven-time Olympic medalist, who had cheered on her husband at their away game at Levi’s Stadium and at many of his past games throughout the last few months, shared a message of support for the athlete.

“What a season,” Biles, 26, wrote on her Instagram Stories Jan. 21, alongside a video of herself and Owens, 28, kissing on the sidelines.

The Packers safety reposted his wife’s clip on his Instagram Stories.

Biles, the most decorated gymnast in the world, previously shared pics of herself getting her “game day glam” on while wearing a Packers tank top bearing Owens’ jersey number, 34.

The Olympian and NFL star married in Houston, where she was raised, last April. In December, Owens stirred controversy when he said on The Pivot podcast that the was the “catch” in his marriage to Biles. He added that he “didn’t know who she was” when they first matched on a dating app, as he “never really paid attention to gymnastics.”

Days later, the NFL player noted on Instagram he was “unbothered,” while Biles wrote on social media, “Are y’all done yet?” and “liked” several posts about the commentary, including one from a fan who wrote, “They annoying huh sis?”

Earlier this month, Owen doubled down on his statement that he didn’t know who Biles was at first, telling Vanity Fair, “A lot of people don’t believe me when I say I had no clue.”

Owens added, “I was like, man, she got a lot of followers, she must be pretty good.”

Look back at moments Biles proved she is the GOAT:

Simone Biles recently shared a sweet message of encouragement for her husband Jonathan Owens and his NFL team, the Green Bay Packers, after they lost to the San Francisco 49ers.

The season originally got off to a slow start for the Packers, as they registered five losses in their first eight matches. However, they made quite a dramatic comeback near the tail end of their league matches, winning their last game against arch-rivals Chicago Bears.

Green Bay then went on to qualify for the wild card weekend playoffs, pulling off an unexpected victory against the Dallas Cowboys 48-32. Unfortunately for the Packers, their dream run came to an end on Sunday when they came up short against the 49ers 21-24 in an enthralling match.

However, despite the loss, Simone Biles was ready to root for Owens and his team. Taking to her Instagram story, she shared an adorable video of Owens running up to her at the sidelines and giving her a kiss before heading back to the game.

An Instagram influencer and proud mother, Rebeca Ciavarino, embraced the trend inspired by Kyle Juszczyk‘s wife Kristin Juszczyk’s popular NFL jersey puffer jackets. In a reel, she expressed a little disappointment with unused NFL jerseys at home. The trending designs sparked her creativity, leading to the creation of stylish puffer jackets.

Kristin Juszczyk’s NFL fashion designs gained widespread praise as Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes flaunted her handmade Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes coats.

Fans expressed excitement, particularly the female fanbase, seeking similar designs. The mix of puffer jackets and jerseys adds a stylish touch to game days in the chilly weather.

Notably, Rebeca also clarified that the inspiration came from Simone Biles’ jacket, not Taylor Swift‘s. Rebeca Ciavarino revealed more details about selling her customized designs, mentioning a $200 price for transforming a jersey into a puffer vest with a zipper. Here is a link to the details about the jackets.

She advised sourcing jerseys from platforms like Poshmark or Mercari for around $60, emphasizing the importance of using “real,” licensed NFL jerseys.

NFL Fans React To Rebeca’s Puffer Jacket Designs for just $200

Fans appreciated Rebeca’s transformation of an NFL jersey into a stylish puffer jacket. One Instagram user acknowledged the lack of attractive women’s gear from the NFL and commended Rebeca for utilizing her late uncle’s jersey creatively.

They praised her work despite a dislike for the Cowboys. Another fan expressed admiration for the creative effort, following with the disappointment of the team’s playoff exit.

Rebeca clarified the doubts of one of the Instagram users who was the inspiration behind her attempt to design the jacket. It was Simone Biles’s puffer jacket, not Taylor Swift’s. Fans praised her talent, with one expressing amazement and admiration.

Additionally, the emergence of style-conscious female fans blending fashion with game-day excitement is noteworthy. The trend, currently focused on puffer jackets, could pave the way for more innovative jersey styles in the future. Given the attention on WAGs’ game day outfits, there’s potential for NFL Shops to explore collaborations with such designers for trendy fan apparel.

Jonathan Owens’ first season with the Green Bay Packers ended with a heartbreaking loss — and Simone Biles was there to support him every step of the way.

The Olympic gold medalist, 26, headed to California to watch the Packers safety, 28, and his team take on the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on Saturday.

The game ended the Packers and Owens’ season with a crushing fourth-quarter 49ers comeback and 21-24 loss, prompting Biles to share a sweet tribute to her husband.

On Sunday, Biles posted a video of her and Owens sharing a sideline smooch — a common occurrence during the NFL season — on her Instagram Story, alongside the caption: “What a season 💚.”

Prior to the Packers’ tough playoff loss, Biles shared several other Instagram Story posts of herself preparing for the game and cheering on Owens.

The gymnast started with a selfie, in which she posed bare-faced with a coffee in her hand. “GAME DAY,” she captioned the post, and decorated it with several football emojis.

After the selfie, Biles posted a video of her and Owens sharing a sideline kiss and hug last week, when the Packers defeated the Dallas Cowboys in a wild-card matchup.

“Good luck today baby 🤍. Go 34,” she wrote. “Let’s do the damn thing! I’m so proud of you.”

Following her words of encouragement for Owens, the Olympian revealed her last game-day look of the season, starting with a natural, glowy makeup glam.

She also repped her husband with a sparkling “J” initial necklace, and ditched her usual game-day attire — bulky puffers and vests that help her brave the Wisconsin cold — for skinny jeans, a “34” tank top in Green Bay colors and a cropped satin suit coat.

Clad in her green and gold attire, she also snapped several pics with other Packers partners, including Jon Runyan Jr.’s fiancée, Victoria Schultz, and AJ Dillon’s wife, Gabrielle Dillon.

Owens signed with the Packers last May, less than a month after he and Biles tied the knot on April 22, 2023, in Houston. (A few weeks after their legal wedding, they hosted a destination celebration in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.)

The Olympic gymnast and the football player officially met for the first time three years prior, in March 2020, via the dating app Raya.

Olympics gymnastics legend Simone Biles shared heartfelt messages to her “catch” of a husband, Packers safety Jonathan Owens, on Instagram on Saturday ahead of Green Bay’s NFC divisional playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers — before the two shared a tender moment on the field.

“Good luck today baby,” Biles, 26, captioned a video of the couple kissing before last week’s wild card round win over the Cowboys on her Instagram Story. “Go 34.”

“Let’s do the damn thing! I’m so proud of you,” she also wrote.

Later on Saturday, Biles shared a photo of her divisional gameday look on her Instagram.

Her outfit featured a cutout of Owen’s number, 34, in Packers colors and a necklace with her husband’s first initial, J.

Less than an hour before kickoff against the 49ers, Biles was spotted on the Packers’ sideline giving Owens, 28, a good-luck hug and kiss.

Biles continues to support her husband following social media backlash of Owens’ appearance on “The Pivot” podcast, where the Packers safety claimed he was the “catch” of the relationship.

On the podcast, Owens claimed he “didn’t know who” Biles, one of the most accomplished gymnastics in Olympics history, was when they first matched on the exclusive dating app Raya.

Fans ridiculed legendary gymnast Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens for the push-off against the San Francisco 49ers’ Trent Williams. The Green Bay Packers locked horns with the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Although the clash was an ultimate showdown with the SF Niners dominating the Cheeseheads 24-21 to clinch a spot in their third straight NFC championship game, the skirmish between Ninners’ offensive back Trent Williams and Packers’ strong safety Owens drew the fans’ attention.

During the third quarter of the NFC Divisional Round Showdown, Williams appeared to be involved in a bicker with a few Packers’ defenders when Owens came over to look into the matter. The Packer ended up reeling on the ground after being knocked by Williams.

Biles’ husband was mocked by the gymnast’s fans by being called a “flop” and they jokingly advised Biles to divorce Owens.

Another fan mocked the Packers’ safety hinting at his interview where he referred to himself as the ‘catch’ in their relationship.
Another fan suggested Owens’ fall to be an intentional act to earn a penalty. The fan playfully stated Owens’ acting skills to be better than Biles.

Simone Biles appeared in San Francisco this week with a special goal in mind. She was all set to adore her boys in the game against an NFL juggernaut. The juggernauts in helmets and jerseys, the San Francisco 49ers, didn’t get overjoyed before appearing in the playoff of the NFL divisional round. In the opponent, they found the lowest-seeded team, Green Bay Packers, that had already reeled against the 49ers in previous playoffs. But this time, the situation differed from the past occasions. Apparently, two things could go against the top seed in the NFC.

One was the lineup the Green Bay Packers made ready against the San Francisco 49ers. Another could be the thorough support for the Green Pack from the Olympic legend in the fence line, Simone Biles.

Simone Biles drops the support bomb against the San Francisco 49ers

On January 20, Levi’s Stadium hosted the penultimate match between the San Francisco 49ers and the Green Bay Packers. The Packers’ squad tilted toward showcasing a young team including the Pros Aaron Jones and Jordan Love. But for Simone Biles, the pack received most of the support because of the presence of Jonathan Owens in the final squad. The most decorated gymnast thoroughly rounded her Instagram feeds by posting support messages. Now on the brink of the starting whistle, Simone Biles shared her aura of kissing JO from the fence line. With that, the supporting lines became benevolent as it went, “let’s do the damn thing! I’m so proud of you”.

Simone Biles

Moreover, the attire of Simone Biles was also notable as it framed the jersey number of JO (34) in the back. “good luck today baby… go 34”, was the ultimate message. Hardly, Simone Biles let slip any chance away whenever it comes to supporting Jonathan Owens, the safety of the Green Bay Packers. At the onset of the Pivot podcast, the 26-year-old gymnast proudly disbursed that she would want to take the identity of being the wife of JO. In the happenings as well, Simone came squeaky clean to register her standing.

The being of the support

In the gymnastic mat, Simone Biles doesn’t hold any numbered jersey. However, that didn’t hold her from pitching on the ‘34’ numbered jacket whenever she found an option. The puffer jacket worn by Biles in an NFL encounter already made a plethora of news for its styling or manufacturing. Even so, that jacket held an NFL backstory.

The showcased number 34 in that jacket belonged to JO. However, Kristin Juszczyk, who also has an NFL WAG recital, was the designer of that custom-made dress. So, no matter what the outcome pours out from the NFL matches, the sporty couple always trends with their shared goals.

Women have had a star turn in the NFL this season. From Taylor Swift to Alix Earle, the wives and girlfriends of players have stepped into the spotlight on the sidelines and in their careers.

Simone Biles is no exception. The most decorated gymnast of all time, the 26-year-old returned to competition in 2023 and ended the year as the world champion. Her husband Jonathan Owens, with whom she tied the knot in April, has taken after his wife, turning in a stellar NFL season.

The safety began his career as an unsigned free agent. After a short stint with the Cardinals, he spent four seasons with the Texans, including the most productive year of his career in 2022.

The 28-year-old signed on with the Packers in 2023, and now he’s headed to the divisional round after No. 7 seed Green Bay secured an upset of the No. 2 seed Cowboys on wild-card weekend.

Looking for Owens on the field? Here’s what to know about his jersey number and why he wears No. 34.

Why does Jonathan Owens wear No. 34?

Simone Biles

There’s no rhyme or reason behind why Owens wears No. 34 on the Packers. Jerseys were switched around among the safeties when Owens signed with the team in May.

Adrian Amos wore No. 31 during his four seasons in Green Bay. He didn’t re-sign after the 2022 season, so his jersey number went to James Wiggins, who joined the Packers on a reserve contract from January to May. Wiggins had worn No. 34 before Owens signed in May, but Owens took over the number.

The NFL allows defensive backs to wear a variety of numbers, from zero to 49. Owens’s jersey number has always been in a small range, though. He wore No. 36 during his four seasons with the Texans organization and No. 42 during his time with the Cardinals.

In his college career at at Missouri Western State, however, he wore No. 3.

Biles doesn’t don a number as a gymnast, so there’s no way for the couple to match. But she and Owens have both found success since their marriage last April, Owens on the field and Biles on the met.

The Olympic gymnast returned to the international stage at the world championships in October, where she secured her 37th medal, a gymnastics record.

While Biles might be more famous than her husband, she attends nearly every Packers game, and she’s often wearing custom sweatshirts or jackets in support of Owens. Kristin Juszczyk, the designer who went viral for her custom puffer jacket for Taylor Swift, even crafted a personalized vest for Biles earlier in the season.

Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens learned a thing or two about being a star athlete from his gymnastics champion wife, Simone Biles, this season.

After the couple got married in April, Owens signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Green Bay Packers. He’s never gotten the chance to play in the playoffs until this season, as he’s taken over as a starter on Green Bay’s defense as they continue their campaign to the Super Bowl.

His wife’s criticism of his past performance has played a crucial role in his career year.

Prior to the season, while Owens was watching film of his play, Biles joined in and said her husband looked “slow” on the field, Owens told Tyler Dunne of Go Long TD.

“It messed me up because it’s like: ‘My lady is telling me this, so do I really need to…’ but she knows what she’s talking about when it comes to mental health,” Owens says. “When she said that, it kind of hit me: ‘Man. I guess I am.’”

Simone Biles

Biles has also critiqued her husband’s athletic abilities publicly as well, when she ousted him for struggling to do her gymnastics workouts in response to his claims that he’s the better athlete between the two of them.

“He has done my workout in the gym and he can barely do it, and then I went to their NFL workout and I crushed it.” Biles said during an appearance on Peacock’s 2023 Back That Year Up.

But Biles’ film critique led Owens to seek out the Packers’ team psychologist, who helped the backup safety re-wire his mindset on the field.

“I’m playing free,” Owens said of how he’s played after the intervention. “I addressed stuff that I didn’t know that I was struggling with. But she brought it to my attention. Once you do that mental work? Your mind is a powerful weapon.”

Owens was elevated to a key role in Week 7 after Green Bay’s previous starting safety Darnell Savage went on IR with a calf injury. With his newfound mindset, Owens has had some of his best performance as a pro for the Packers this year.

He had a career game on Thanksgiving against the Lions, when he had 12 total tackles and his first career touchdown on a fumble recovery, which prompted Biles to geek out on social media. She has made the trip to Wisconsin to visit her husband several times this season and has even traveled to watch him play in road games as well.

In Green Bay’s first playoff game against the Cowboys this year, Owens had four total tackles, as the Dallas offense only scored one touchdown in the first half and was held to just 16 total points when the Packers had taken a 32-point lead.

Now, Owens will look to help the Packers take down the San Francisco 49ers and take another step toward the Super Bowl.

Owens could use a championship ring, as he is disproportionately behind Biles in terms of hardware. Biles is a four-time Olympic gold medalist and the most decorated gymnast in history, while Owens has no major pro or college accolades at all.

Still, this hasn’t stopped Owens from claiming that he is “the catch” in the relationship.
