The new season of LIV Golf is going to kick off soon! The players will be honing their swing techniques to have a great start to their season. And one of those players is Phil Mickelson. He is known for his incredible club skills and a long list of achievements. A part of his success goes to his knack for experimenting with his clubs.

In the past, the 53-year-old used to regularly try out new clubs, despite being sponsored by Callaway. With the two now going their separate ways, the LIV loyalist is expected to experiment more. Let’s look into his bag to find out what clubs he will be carrying this year!

What’s in Phil Mickelson’s golf bag?

While Callaway and Mickelson have parted ways, the 53-year-old is still using some clubs from them. Like his driver, which is a Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond Driver with a Fujikura Ventus TR Red 6 X shaft. He is one of the pros who enjoys a low loft of 8.5 degrees on their driver. This is because he carries a mini-driver with him.

Along with his driver, Lefty carries a TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver with a Fujikura Ventus Black 6 X shaft. He uses an 11.5-degree lofted head on his mini-driver. Furthermore, the LIV player also carries two hybrids, specifically the Callaway Apex UW Hybrid and the Ping Anser Hybrid.

He has paired his hybrids with a Fujikura Ventus Red 9 X and a Mitsubishi Kuro Kage Prototype shaft, respectively. As for his irons, Phil Mickelson uses Callaway X Forged UT (22 degrees) and Callaway X Forged 2013 (6-9). All his irons are paired with KBS Tour-V 125 shafts.

While for his long shots, the American golfer prefers Callaway, he somewhat experiments with other brands for precision shots.

What wedges and putters does Mickelson use?

For his wedges, Mickelson uses Callaway Jaws Raw (50 degrees, 56 degrees) and Ping Eye2 XG (L) wedges. The shafts on all his wedges belong to KBS Tour-V. Interestingly, for his putter, the 53-year-old uses a custom-made one.

He uses Callaway’s Odyssey “Phil Mickelson” prototype putter with a SuperStroke Traxion WL 17 grip. He has coupled the rest of his clubs with Golf Pride MCC grips. Furthermore, he uses Callaway Chrome Soft X Triple Track golf balls.

It looks like the LIV loyalist is sticking with his previous brand at his clubs right now. It will be worth watching which brand he experiments with next.

Phil Mickelson has not been the most beloved person in golf for a while now. His public departure from the PGA Tour resulted in a self-imposed exile, which didn’t help reform his public perception. This made him public enemy number one for a while.

At this time, stories started to come forward about his interactions, and one particular story caught the eye of the golf world in a good way for once.

Tour hopeful Mark Baldwin had reached out to Mickelson asking for help with his short game. Putting was a woeful experience for him, and he wanted the guidance of someone who had been excellent at it for years.

Ultimately, Mickelson, just be kind to Baldwin, agreed to help. The two began training, and it appears to have paid off, at least according to the pair. They’ve also struck up a bit of a friendship as well.

Baldwin shared a clip showcasing a young golfer struggling to get his ball out of the bunker. It was pretty hilarious, and Mickelson couldn’t help but crack a joke at Baldwin’s expense.

The LIV Golf star joked:

Phil Mickelson

It was a playful tease, one that certainly wouldn’t be shared if the two didn’t have a strong relationship. Baldwin is a much stronger putter now thanks to Mickelson, who is slowly, but surely redeeming himself in the public eye.

Charlie Woods made quite the impression at the PNC Championship, finishing T5 alongside dad Tiger over two days of action that included the 14-year-old driving a 355-yard hole, before chipping in just 30 minutes later.

While onlookers would have been left in no doubt of the 14-year-old’s burgeoning talent, it appears the commercial world is also taking notice.

During the tournament, Charlie was seen wearing apparel from Greyson Clothiers, and the possibility that he has signed a deal with the company was given more substance when NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald took to Instagram to share a post where he wrote: “Welcome to the

The company also referenced Charlie, sharing an image on Instagram of him taking a shot at the tournament and writing: “Early sights at the @pncchampionship.” However, neither Fitzgerald nor Greyson’s’ posts are still available to view.

While there has also been no official announcement from Greyson Clothiers, the activity is likely to fuel speculation that Charlie’s famous father might also pen an agreement with the company.

The 15-time Major winner has had a long association with Nike, having originally teamed up with the company when he was just 20 years old. However, there have been an increasing number of reports in recent weeks that the relationship may be on the verge of ending, with the PNC Championship potentially his last outing in its apparel.

Charlie Woods

Woods gave a coy response when asked about the sponsorship rumors at the tournament. A reporter asked: “There’s been a lot of chatter the last month or so on your relationship with Nike, and where that’s going. Can you give any clarity to that?” Woods replied: “I’m still wearing their product.” The journalist was then more direct, asking: “Is this the end of it, coming up?” However, Woods simply repeated his answer.

Another association with Greyson Clothiers and the duo is its sponsorship of Justin Thomas, who is a firm friend of Tiger’s.

TaylorMade Golf has also been active on social media with regards to Woods Sr, with his appearance in its annual Christmas advert appearing imminent. The golf equipment manufacturer posted a message on X that read: “Return of the Mac…tomorrow” with the 47-year-old tagged in the accompanying image, which is apparently of the player wearing a Santa costume – a reference to his “Mac Daddy Santa” alias, which he introduced on Twitter (now X) seven years ago.

As for Charlie, it seems he could be in line for huge sponsorship money sooner rather than later. According to Sam Weber, the senior director of communications at NIL Platform Opendorse, he could agree an NIL contract, which would allow him to market his name, image and likeness, despite still being an amateur.

A year ago, he told Sportico: “He’s not a risk for advertisers because of his name recognition alone. That also applies to NIL patrons looking to influence the next generation of the sansabelt set, which is why Charlie could cash in even if he never plays pro golf.”

Tiger Woods is returning to the PNC Championship, the 36-hole event that has become one of his favourites because of his partner – his son, Charlie.

Woods and 14-year-old Charlie will play the event for the fourth straight year. It’s the one tournament he has not missed during the last injury-plagued four years.

“It is an amazing gift to be able to share my love of golf with Charlie and we genuinely do look forward to playing in the PNC Championship all years,” Woods said on Wednesday.

“Competing together, against a field of so many golfing greats and their families, is so special.”

The event takes place on December 16-17 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando at Grande Lakes.

Woods and Charlie were runners-up in 2021, just 10 months after Woods badly damaged his right leg and ankle in a car crash in Los Angeles. They finished seventh in their 2020 debut and tied for eighth last year.

Charlie Woods

Woods is to play next week at his Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas for the first time since surgery to fuse his right ankle in April after the Masters.

Because the PNC Championship is run by the PGA Tour Champions, Woods is allowed to ride in a cart.

The tournament is for major champions or winners of The Players Championship. It began as a father-son outing and now, tour players can play with sons and daughters, grandchildren, even parents as their partners.

New to the field this year is a formidable pair of Steve Stricker, who won three of the four majors he played on the PGA Tour Champions this year, and daughter Izzi, a state high school champion in Wisconsin.

Padraig Harrington is playing for the sixth year, this time with youngest son Ciaran instead of Paddy.

“It was actually Ciaran watching Paddy and I play together out there these last couple of years that really ignited his passion for the game, which shows what a very special event this is,” Harrington said.

“He must have watched me play in hundreds of events over the years and it has taken the unique atmosphere and experience of the PNC Championship to inspire him!”

Also back is Lee Trevino, who at 84 is the only player to have competed in the PNC Championship every year since it began in 1995.

Amateur Nick Dunlap, already a PGA Tour winner, has turned professional and will make his pro debut at Pebble Beach.

Sound familiar?

Well, Dunlap, the Alabama sophomore who last Sunday at The American Express became the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event in over three decades, isn’t the first amateur Tour champ to launch his pro career on the iconic Monterey Peninsula links. In fact, Phil Mickelson, who won the 1991 Northern Telecom Open as an Arizona State junior, also debuted at Pebble.

Unlike Dunlap, who declared Thursday that he’d be forfeiting his remaining college eligibility in time for next week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Mickelson opted to return to school for a fourth year. He ended up a four-time All-American and three-time NCAA individual champion. Mickelson then turned pro and qualified for 1992 U.S. Open via final qualifying at Farmington Country Club in Germantown, Tennessee.

“I’m just excited because I can’t think of a better place to start a professional career than Pebble Beach and the U.S. Open,” Mickelson told reporters that day.

Phil Mickelson

“I think I can look back on this day 20, 30 years from now on the start of my professional career and say, ‘I birdied my first hole in my professional debut. Shot 68 in that round in the United States Open Championship.’ I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome,” Mickelson told reporters before later adding, “I’m just trying to figure out how to play a good second round now.”

Of course, Mickelson wouldn’t figure it out – at least that week. He backed up his 68 with an 81. He doubled the par-4 11th, tripled the par-4 third and carded just one birdie, at the par-5 18th hole.

Five years later, Mickelson got his winning moment at Pebble, winning the Pro-Am in 1998. He’d add wins at Pebble in 2005, 2007, 2012 and 2019.

that his pre-round routine has become only more important as he’s aged.

“Usually, before tournaments, before I play, I’m in the gym doing some kind of stretching, physical therapy,” Mickelson told GOLF’s Dylan Dethier on the latest episode of Warming Up (check out the full episode below). “But a lot of times, at home, I’ll just go out and play early rounds, and so I leave these [bands] on my cart or in my golf bag.”

For Mickelson, getting some reps in with resistance bands is an easy way to prepare his body for the rigors of tournament play.

“There’s basic exercises that I have to do to get my body kind of activated before I go play,” he said. “So, I have these bands and I’ll just latch them onto the edge of the cart.”

Check out Mickelson’s favorite pre-round moves with resistance bands below.

Just like every year since 2020, Tiger Woods teamed up with his son and budding golfer, Charlie Woods, for the PNC Championship. However, this time, the pair had yet another family member alongside them on the course. Woods’ daughter and Charlie’s elder sister, Sam Alexis Woods, was on the greens, too, as their caddie! Seeing the trio together left room for one big question, though.

Where is the missing piece of the immediate Woods family – the young Woods’ mother and the golf pro’s ex-wife – Elin Nordegren? Woods and Nordegren tied the knot in 2004, following which they had their two now-teenage children. However, the duo parted ways in 2010, a few months after their marriage scandal went public. More than a decade after the fact, Tiger Woods’ life is still well-documented. But what about Elin Nordegren?

Elin Nordegren’s life following the split with Tiger Woods

When Nordegren called off their marriage in 2004, it certainly did not mean the end for the ex-supermodel and nanny. After getting divorced in 2010, the Swedish ex-model went on to graduate from Rollins Liberal Arts College in Winter Park, Florida, four years later as a psychology major. Her love for the kids—which is what propelled her to become a nanny before meeting Tiger Woods—pushed her to remain strong and complete her education, leading her to get a job as a mental health counselor

Charlie Woods

After Nordegren split up with the golf pro, she went ahead and bought a beautiful mansion with part of the $100 million she received as settlement money. What’s more? The exquisite home consists of nine bedrooms, a lavish pool, and a mini-course for golfing, among other facilities.

The ex-model did make a name for herself professionally following the divorce. But what about her personal life? Has she been dating anyone else? Well, surprisingly, even though things didn’t go well with Woods—one of the most famous athletes—Nordegren is seeing someone from the sports world!

Who is Elin Nordegren now dating?

The Swede has been in a relationship with retired NFL player Jordan Cameron since 2017. The two lovebirds have two sons together, whose details have mostly been kept private. As quoted by Distractify, an insider told Page Six in 2019,  “[Elin and Jordan] have kept their relationship very under wraps. Her friends are so happy for her because he is wonderful. Elin and Jordan met at Art Basel in Miami a few years [ago], and they are both really happy and excited about the arrival of a new baby.”

Has the new relationship dampened the bond between Nordegren and her kids from her previous marriage? The answer is no. The duo has made sure not to let their past relationship affect how they raise their children. Moreover, the ex-lovers are now happily co-parenting Charlie and Sam Woods despite their tumultuous past. In fact, Charlie and Sam’s parents have left the past in the past. A source told Us Weekly“Tiger and Elin are truly in a great place. He’s been so great with the kids, and that really brought her around to having a friendship with Tiger.”

Elin Nordegren seems to have made a stable life for herself following the divorce while helping the legend raise the kids they had together.

Toby Harbeck, Charlie Woods’ high school coach, has provided an insightful analysis of the young golfer’s game. In a recent interview with Golf.com, Harbeck discussed the rising star’s skills and his golfing journey.

Woods, 14, has had a great year competing in junior competitions in 2023. Fans have great expectations for the up-and-coming golfer, who won the South Florida PGA Junior Championship in 2023. Now, he is ready to play with his father, Tiger Woods, in the PNC Championship.

Speaking about Woods, his coach Harbeck said, as quoted by Golf.com:

Charlie Woods

Herbeck also discussed Woods and his father’s striking resemblance. Several videos have been posted on social media comparing their golf styles since Charlie Woods made his PNC Championship debut in 2020. The younger Woods has also been dubbed a “Mini-Tiger” by fans.

Charlie and Tiger Woods will participate in the 2023 PNC Championship for the fourth consecutive year. Fans have them as this week’s favorites to win. Charlie Woods’ performances have been impressive in the last three editions as well, and supporters are hoping he will continue to display his remarkable golfing abilities.

During the interview, Harbeck also said that Woods is highly competitive, even when he is playing with his father. Harbeck said:

The PNC Championship has come to an end with Bernhard Langer and son Jason Langer having the last laugh. The action-packed extravaganza that went on for two days was nothing but entertaining. Despite all the action and the Langer’s glorious three-peat with his son Jason, the duo whose presence echoed through the Ritz-Carlton corridors has been Tiger Woods and his son Charlie. With the event done and dusted, there’s one question that remains, though.

The 2023 PNC Championship can be called the unofficial PGA Tour showstopper of the year. This exhilarating experience ignites a frenzy among fans and players alike, ticking all the entertainment boxes. The event was also the second time Tiger Woods was in action after his Hero World Challenge comeback. And although the PNC Championship is more inclined towards embracing the family aspect, it also doesn’t ignore the money perspective. So, how much did Team Woods earn after they paired up yet again for the event?

Team Woods finished in T5 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club with a massive comeback on the final day, which included Jr. Woods’ incredible chip-in. With a priceless reaction from Tiger Woods, Charlie’s remarkable shot-making won the father-son duo a five-figure payout of $47,000. Considering Team Woods was tied with three other teams in T5 (all of whom finished 19 strokes below par), all the pairs will receive the $47K prize money, marking this moment as something unique in the history of the PNC Championship.

Charlie Woods

Apart from the popular duo, the champs, Bernhard and Jason Langer, will get a total prize money of $200,000. Whereas popular partners like Nelly Korda-Petr Korda and Justin Thomas-Mike Thomas will be receiving $42,750 each. Annika Sorenstam and Will McGee, whose tears stole the hearts of fans, will have to settle for $43,750. That being said, the PNC Championship is far bigger than its decent prize pool. The priceless moments players share with their families would likely be their biggest takeaways from this wondrous event. Well, at least that’s the case with one of the two members of Team Woods.

While Tiger ‘bonded’ with his son, Charlie focused on a crucial improvement area

Coming into the PNC Championship, Tiger Woods expressed his admiration for how much his son’s game had grown over the past year. For him, the event was an opportunity to play alongside Charlie, watching him take the golf community by storm. And that’s precisely what Jr Woods did. His chip-in was one of many astonishing shots the 14-year-old made, another one of which was his 321-yard drive. But what followed that drive – both he and Tiger missed their putts for an eagle attempt – is what left him disappointed, among other things. And he revealed the duo’s aspect that needs improving.

After the event, Charlie said, “I drove the ball really good today. Didn’t miss a fairway and still managed to shoot eight-under. We just suck at putting.” While he focused on the competitive side of the event, his father couldn’t help but reflect on the fun outing he had with Charlie, staying true to the point of the PNC Championship. Tiger said, “I just have a lot more fun doing it with him. We have so much fun at home practicing and playing games. It’s a special bonding that happens that not a lot of parents get a chance to have.”

Bernhard Langer and his son claimed a two-shot victory at the PNC Championship, with Tiger Woods and his 14-year-old son Charlie six strokes back in tied-fifth after an impressive day in Florida; Watch the PGA Tour in 2024 live on Sky Sports Golf

Tiger Woods partnered his son Charlie to a tied-fifth finish at the PNC Championship, as Bernhard Langer claimed a record-equalling fifth victory in the event.

Team Woods were making their fourth appearance in the 20-team field, where past winners of majors or Players Championships play alongside a family member in a 36-hole scramble contest in Florida.

The Woods pair combined to card an eagle and nine birdies in a 11-under 61 on the final day at the Ritz-Carlton Club to finish as one of five teams on 19 under, six strokes behind Langer and his son Jason.

Team Woods took advantage of the par-five third and Tiger added an eagle at the par-five fifth, then watched on with pride as his son drove the green at the 355-yard seventh and then chipped in from off the ninth green to add to their birdie tally.

Charlie Woods

The duo – who also had Woods’ 16-year-old daughter Sam as a caddie – started the back nine with a birdie and added four more in a row from the 13th, before signing off another memorable week by picking up a shot at the par-five last.

“To have both my kids out there the last two days has been so special,” Woods said. “Just grateful for us to be able to have these types of experiences. I haven’t seen a lot of these guys because a lot of them are on the Champions Tour and quite frankly I haven’t played a lot.”

Two-time Masters champion Langer and his son Jason registered 13 birdies in a final-round 59 to finish two clear of Team Duval, with Team Singh – the defending champions – a further stroke back in third after five birdies in their last six holes.
