Born to Iyanna Mayweather and rapper NBA Youngboy in 2021, Kentrell Gaulden Jr. is turning three this January! So, the legendary world champion Floyd Mayweather turned to social media to wish his grandson a happy birthday. The renowned boxing legend stepped away from his busy life to share an endearing picture of his grandson. He has been especially close to Kentrell, as the grandfather and grandson duo are often spotted together on several outings. He is also a regular sight in many of Floyd’s social media posts.

In numerous social media posts, Iyanna too has shared the love they have for each other, whether it’s following Mayweather’s boxing legacy or the plethora of interactions between them. Previously, Melissa Brim, Iyanna’s mother, and Kentrell’s grandmother extended warm wishes for Kentrell. However, today it was Mayweather’s turn.

Floyd Mayweather wouldn’t change a thing

The undefeated champion of the world, known for his flashy social media posts, did not shy away from grandly wishing his grandson. He wrote, “Happy Birthday to my grandson @kjmeezymayweather I Love You!” In the picture Mayweather shared alongside the heartfelt message, Kentrell can be seen standing atop Mayweather’s $330,500 yellow McLaren 720S Spider.

In a prior Instagram post from Floyd, he highlighted how much his grandson means to him. The retired legend wrote, “Most times I say if I could do it all over, I would change things, but now that I have my grandson, I wouldn’t change a thing because I wouldn’t have him in my life.” Besides birthday wishes from Grandpa, here’s what Grandma had to say about KJ’s special d

Melissa Brim states Kentrell Gaulden Jr. made her a better person

Mayweather and Brim may not be together anymore – but they share an immense love for their grandson. So, Mayweather’s baby mama penned a heartwarming message for Kentrell on Friday. “To my baby KJ. Happy Happy Birthday, you have been the greatest blessing in our whole family’s life,” Brim wrote on Instagram while sharing a montage of their moments together.

She went on to crown KJ as the smartest, loving, funny, kind-hearted child, claiming he changed her life. “You have changed my world & made me such a better human. I’m so thankful that GOD gave you to your mommy; you’re more than wonderful,” wrote Brim. She concluded by stating, “The Big 3, I love you, my KJ.”

The day comes once a year, but whenever it does, Kentrell can expect lots of love from his grandparents, as evident from their kind words on social media posts. Did you wish KJ on his birthday

In an iconic showcase of skill and dominance, Terence Crawford secured victory over Errol Spence Jr. in their long-anticipated super fight in July last year. The T-Mobile Arena witnessed Crawford’s prowess as he sent Spence to the canvas in Round 2 and delivered a relentless two-fisted onslaught in Round 7. The result: Crawford claimed the IBF, WBA, and WBC welterweight titles, adding to his existing WBO belt.

The 35-year-old maestro continued his assault in Round 9, leaving a bloodied and battered Spence. Referee Harvey Dock intervened, halting the one-sided contest at 2 minutes, 32 seconds. The defeat took a toll on Spence Jr, so much so that Bernard Hopkins believes that the boxer would never be the same anymore.

Bernard Hopkins says Errol Spence Jr’s loss took something out of him

Bernard Hopkins talks about how he believes Terence Crawford is the deserving candidate for the 2023 Fighter of the Year. According to Hopkins, one doesn’t need to fight a lot of fights to be the best. One massive bout against a great opponent can do wonders for a fighter. He also talked about the impact of the punishment on Errol Spence Jr, and how he’s taking some time out of the ring because of it.

Terence Crawford, widely recognized as the No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer globally, is already gearing up for his next challenge. It will most probably be a rematch against Errol Spence Jr. Despite the one-sided nature of their initial encounter, both fighters are bound by a rematch clause in their contracts. So it’s a crucial stipulation that made the first fight possible. Crawford, speaking to the media, emphasized the contractual commitment to the rematch. However, the date remains uncertain.

Since Showtime has gone under, the venue and time have yet to be determined. Speaking about it, Crawford said, “It’s up in the air because Showtime has decided not to do boxing. Nothing has been noted to me that the fight would not happen. The contract says 147, and that’s where it will be right now. We can decide on 154 or 147.

So, the rematch between the two boxers might happen soon, and the fans will get to see how Spence Jr will decide to conquer the toughest opponent of his career yet. What are your thoughts about this? Tell us in the comments section

As of January 2nd, 2024, Gervonta Davis was officially elevated to the WBA “Super” Lightweight Champion status following Devin Haney’s decision to vacate the belt and move up in weight. This means Davis is now the sole recognized WBA champion at 135 pounds, solidifying his position as the top dog in the division. Previously reigning as the WBA secondary lightweight champion, Tank Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) also known as Abdul Wahid has now ascended to the full title.

Davis, an American professional boxer has held multiple world championships in three weight classes, from super featherweight to light welterweight. He is known for his powerful punching and aggressive fighting style. He has a knockout-to-win ratio of over 80%, and he has been compared to boxing greats like Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Becoming champion by promotion instead of victory often earns mockery. “Tank” Davis, however, rejects the “email champion” label, sending a tongue-in-cheek message to the WBA: keep your “super” title. “I don’t want that ****,” said Davis on his social media account. “I want blood.”

Gervonta Davis

Davis was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1994. He began boxing at the age of five, and he had a successful amateur career, winning the National Golden Gloves Championship in 2012. Davis turned professional in 2013, and he quickly rose through the ranks. He won his first world title, the IBF Super Featherweight Championship, in 2017.

“I ain’t no email champion. I earned my respect in the ring, and I’m gonna keep proving it. This belt might have come easy, but I’m not taking it easy. The real work starts now,” he added.

“They can call it whatever they want, ‘regular,’ ‘super,’ whatever. I’m still the champion, and I’m gonna defend this title like any other. “This is just one step on the way to the top. I’m not satisfied with just being champion. I want to be undisputed, the best in the world. This belt is just another motivation to keep pushing,” said Davis.

Davis is ready to prove himself in the ring, and he’s not going to let the WBA’s decision hold him back. It remains to be seen how this situation will play out, but one thing is for sure: Gervonta Davis is not going down without a fight.

Anthony Joshua will take on ex- UFC star Francis Ngannou in a 10-round bout in Saudi Arabia in March.

The pair will clash in what will only be Ngannou’s second professional bout. He came close to stunning Tyson Fury last year, flooring the WBC champion before losing a marginal points decision.

Joshua had been provisionally scheduled to face Deontay Wilder following his win over Otto Wallin on December 23. However, that clash was scuppered by the American’s defeat to Joseph Parker.

On Friday night, MMA correspondent Ariel Helwani revealed the news on social media. In a video posted online, he said: “Massive breaking news from the world of combat sports,” he said. “I’ve had it confirmed that it is a done deal, it is going down, Francis Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion is returning to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

“He is returning to action later this year to face the man who had an incredible 2023 in his own right. The man who just won on ‘day of reckoning’ on December 23, the only and only ‘AJ’, Anthony Joshua. It is a done deal.”

Helwani added that a press conference would take place in London later this month to confirm a date for the clash. Should Joshua, 34, prevail, he will be expected to then take on the victory of the Oleksandr Usyk v Fury unification bout, that also takes place in Saudi on February 17.

Eddie Hearn later added: “Tonight we confirm it’s a Done Deal! @anthonyjoshua v @francis_ngannou collide on a huge night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – press conference Jan 15 in London with full details dropping soon!”

The British heavyweight looked close to his explosive best in Saudi before Christmas, with Wallin failing to return from his stool for the sixth round. But he will be wary of Ngannou’s own clash in the Middle East least year, his only professional boxing bout to date.

And after coming so close to stunning the ‘Gypsy King’, the 37-year-old was awarded a No.10 ranking by the WBC. He left the UFC in January 2023, and was duly stripped of his heavyweight title, after the two parties failed to reach an agreement over a new contract.

He then signed for the Professional Fighters League. However, the ‘Predator’ has not since competed in an MMA bout amid preparing for his clash with Fury.

Anthony Joshua’s former trainer Robert Garcia has denied any interest in one rumoured opponent for his ex-fighter, claiming that the fight should not even be sanctioned.

Garcia was crowned as the 2011 Ring Magazine Trainer of the Year, and has trained the likes of Nonito Donaire, Marcos Maidana and his younger brother Mikey Garcia since retiring from the sport in 2001. He currently corners unified champion Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez.

The former IBF super-featherweight champion turned coach was appointed as Joshua’s lead trainer for the his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, one year after he lost his unified heavyweight crown.

The partnership ended after just one contest though, as ‘AJ’ lost a split-decision to the Ukrainian in the rematch after an improved but insufficient performance.

Joshua has since partnered up with Derrick James and now Ben Davison and put together a much stronger display under the latter last month, where he knocked out tricky Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin.

Now he is being linked to a fight with Filip Hrgovic, which could potentially be for a vacant IBF heavyweight title, along with a potential clash with Francis Ngannou, who knocked down Tyson Fury back in October on his boxing debut before losing by split decision.

In an interview with ES News, Garcia claimed that a potential showdown between Joshua and Ngannou is completely one-sided and said that it shouldn’t even be sanctioned.

For now at least, a match-up with Hrgovic appears more likely, but time will tell if the Ngannou fight could happen.

MMA Heavyweight Francis Ngannou left a lasting impression in Riyadh after his fight against Tyson Fury, a fight that many believed he actually won. After months of talks and constant negotiations, it has been reported that the Cameroonian martial artist has landed another massive boxing match. Only this time, he is fighting none other than Anthony Joshua in a 10-round fight. Combat sports insider Ariel Helwani was the one who broke the news. It is finally happening after intense negotiations, more details on the fight and press conference leading up to it were released by promoter Eddie Hearn. The Anthony Joshua agent took to Twitter to break the details of the fight.

Eddie Hearn confirms the Joshua v Ngannou fight

About an hour after Ariel Helwani’s exclusive, promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed the fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He also confirmed there will be a press conference on January 15 that is taking place in London. Other than that, there were no more details about this fight but what they revealed should be more than enough to get boxing fans hyped. This is what Eddie Hearn wrote on his Twitter/X account: “Tonight we confirm it’s a Done Deal! Anthony Joshua v Francis Ngannou collide on a huge night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – press conference Jan 15 in London with full details dropping soon!”

Anthony Joshua had already returned to his best form back in December after beating Otto Wallin with ease during the ‘Day of Reckoning’ boxing event in Riyadh. That gives him enough confidence to take this fight, which won’t be easy by any stretch of the imagination. Ngannou proved himself to be a dangerous opponent after his exhibition against Tyson Fury. In fact, Francis did drop Fury in the early rounds of their fight. The victory was given to the ‘Gypsy King’ but we all witnessed Ngannou making a statement. If he wasn’t being taken seriously by other boxing heavyweights, Anthony Joshua wouldn’t even entertain this idea. More details of this event will be revealed on January 15. But for now, get hyped!

Francis Ngannou will return to the boxing ring later this year for a massive fight with former heavyweight titleholder Anthony Joshua.

A former UFC heavyweight champion, Ngannou took a massive amount of criticism in early 2023 when he elected to walk away from the world’s leading MMA promotion and eventually sign on with the PFL.

One of the major selling points that encouraged “The Predator” to join the PFL was the opportunity to test himself in the boxing ring, and in his debut against Tyson Fury last October the 37-year-old very nearly pulled off what would have been perhaps the biggest upset in combat sports history.

The split decision loss to Fury in Saudi Arabia where Ngannou scored the only knockdown of the fight validated the Cameroonian’s boxing aspirations to countless fans, and now Ariel Helwani reports that “The Predator” will return to Riyadh later this year for a ten-round boxing match with Joshua.

While a date for what will almost certainly be one of the biggest combat sports events of the year hasn’t been revealed yet, Helwani did note that there will be press conference in London later this month to formally announce the matchup with further details.

Matchroom Boxing followed up by making the news official and announcing that a fight date will be revealed next week.

One of the biggest names in heavyweight boxing, Joshua has collected three victories this year after he dropped back-to-back fights to Oleksandr Usyk and lost his heavyweight titles in the process.

“AJ” most recently knocked out Otto Wallin in the main event of the highly-touted “Day of Reckoning” card last month that also saw Deontay Wilder suffer an upset loss to Joseph Parker.

Fight fans will undoubtedly be eager to see how Ngannou fares in his sophomore boxing match after his sensational performance against Fury, although this news does raise questions about when “The Predator” intends to make his debut for the PFL this year.

DESPITE years of talk and speculation, the heavyweight Battle of Britain between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury has yet to happen.

The rivalling pair have even signed contracts to fight in the past only for talks to break down.

It has left the debate raging between fans on who is not only the best heavyweight in the country, but the world.

One man in the unique position of having fought them both is Otto Wallin, who shot to attention for his 2019 bout with Fury.

He memorably left the Gypsy King needing 47 stitches and a lenient referee and doctor who allowed the action to continue.

Fury, 35, dug down and edged out a decision victory to keep his undefeated record intact.

Fast forward four years and Wallin, 32, was named as the man to welcome AJ back to the ring in Saudi Arabia.

But Joshua, 34, gave the Swedish southpaw no chance of seeing the final bell as he dominated him over five rounds.

So Wallin – who was rightly pulled out by his corner – revealed AJ was much harder to fight compared to Fury.

He told  Boxing News: “I know that he is one of the best fighters out there.

Anthony Joshua

“I really have no excuses, he was just better. He did really well, used his reach well, and he hit me with some really good shots. He was just better.

“I think he had a good game plan. He felt like a very good fighter, and obviously, it was a much tougher fight than what I had with Tyson Fury.

“Maybe he’s found his home with Ben Davison.”

Anthony Joshua capped off 2023 with a third win, this time a stoppage over Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin.

It’s not something that overly impressed one Lennox Lewis, who told the Ring Magazine that ‘AJ’ ‘gained nothing’ from fighting a guy that ‘has no definition and doesn’t throw any punches.’

Many in the sport are hailing Joshua’s fifth round forced corner stoppage as a return to best form, but Lewis may reserve judgement until he sees him in a fight with more jeopardy.

For that, he suggests Zhilei Zhang – a man, like Wallin, who lost in the amateurs to Joshua. China’s ‘Big Bang’ had one of the most impressive calendar years in the heavyweight division, twice dispatching previously unstoppable Joe Joyce.

Whilst Zhang has been mooted as a potential opponent, Joshua also may have a vacant world title shot against the IBF’s number one contender, Filip Hrgovic, should the belt become vacant after Tyson Fury’s undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

Veteran trainer Don Charles is very familiar with WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Charles trained Chisora for his decision loss to Usyk in 2020. Chisora gave Usyk one of the toughest fights of his career.

And last year, Charles prepared Daniel Dubois for his mandatory title fight against Usyk in Poland.

Earlier in the fight, Usyk went down from what was ruled as a low blow by the referee, but some observers felt Dubois had landed a legal shot to the body. Usyk would recover and eventually knock Dubois out in the ninth round.

On February 17 in Saudi Arabia, Usyk will collide with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in a high-stakes unification – with the winner become the undisputed beltholder of the weight class.

Charles believes Fury will be too big and too strong, with those attributes being enough to overcome Usyk’s advantage in hand speed and boxing ability.

“This Fury who has gone silent, I believe he’s gone silent, he’s gone away to train, he’s taking it seriously. Forgive me if I get this wrong, but I don’t even think it will be a hard fight for Fury. He’ll maul him, he’s too big for Usyk, he’ll maul him, hit him, tie him up, push him off, he’ll maul him,” Charles told Talk Sport.

“I’ve looked at this fight and no matter how I look at it I come to one conclusion. Yes, Usyk is an exceptional, brilliant technician/tactician. Usyk has a fantastic rhythm that can offset Fury. [He needs to throw] lots of feints, shoot to the body, leave the head alone. Throw all your combinations to the waist, don’t go up, leave Fury’s head alone, that’s what I would advise.”
