The PGA needed to do something creative in order to stop their best golfers from leaving to the LIV competition. As a result of this, they created a $15 million bonus annual award in 2021 that is known as the ‘Player Impact Program‘. Since it’s creation, this program started sharing a total of $100 million amongst 20 golf stars who are considered to have the most significant impact over the course of the entire season. In 2023, the winner was Rory McIlroy, who bagged $15 million from the pot but the final results have not been revealed just yet. This would be the first time that Rory beats Tiger Woods in this specific award, he finished second on the list just behind the Northern Irishman. But finishing second meant Tiger still won a cool $12 million.

How much did the other 8 PGA golfers make this year?

Apart from Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, there were another 8 golfers who split the rest of the $100 million pot and here is how they finished. In third place, Jon Rahm finished with $9.1. Fourth place was for Jordan Spieth, who won $7.5 million. Scottie Scheffler ranked fifth with $6 million. The last five golfers from the Top 10 were Rickie Fowler, Viktor Hovland, Justin Thomas, Tommy Fleetwood, and Max Homa. All of them finished the year with $5 million. The rest of the $100 million was distributed in another amongst another 10 golfers. But this is considered almost an insult for many of the other PGA members, who are between 150 and 200 right now.

Former PGA Tour winner Nate Lashley is not happy with the way the institution has divided this money, a total of $100 million on 20 players. Here is what he said: “How many golf fans actually know what the PIP on the PGA Tour is? Would love to hear from golf/PGA fans if they think this is $100m well spent? There’s 150-200 members of the PGA Tour and they just spent $100m on 20 players. Seems a little ridiculous. Time for new leadership on the PGA Tour. This is an absolute kick in the face to the rest of the PGA Tour players.

Gymnastics GOAT, Simone Biles, and her husband Jonathan Owens took the internet by storm several months ago when they revealed pictures of what their future babies might look like. While ‘The Owens’ babies may take a little more time to get here, Simone Biles is surprisingly already “mom” to someone.

No, we’re not referring to Baby Biles, her niece, or her lovable fur babies, Lilo and Rambo. In a heartwarming Thanksgiving surprise, the seven-time Olympic medalist sent a message and revealed her “Baby Daughter Twin.”

Simone Biles shares message for her “Baby Daughter”

In her latest Instagram story, Simone Biles shared a picture of her best friend and teammate, Zoe Miller. In the picture, Miller wore a peachy fur bathrobe and matching slippers, comfortably seated in a foldable director’s chair on set. Biles, miles away from her, wrote in the caption, “Thankful for you, my lil baby daughter, twin Zoe Miller,” with a laughing and white heart emoji. The special love Biles shares for her WCC teammate was not just one-sided, as Miller too sent her “mom” a wholesome wish of gratitude.

The 2023 Pan American uneven bars gold medalist, Miller, took to her own Instagram stories, treating followers to a throwback from Biles’ bridal shower. They posed happily against a backdrop of white balloons, with Simone Biles stunning in a fitting white gown and Miller, in sync with the blue and white theme, wearing a floral summer top paired with jeans. Miller wrote in her story, “Thankful, thankful, thankful for my big sister, mom twin,” with two white heart emojis. Despite the age difference of nearly 8 years between them, they have captured the hearts of gymnastics fans with their friendship.

The wholesome bond between Simone Biles and Zoe Miller goes way back. It all started at the WCC training center in Houston, Texas, owned by Biles’ parents, where Miller first joined at the tender age of nine. In 2021, at the US Gymnastics Championships, their bond was showcased as Simone was seen fixing Zoe’s hair.

Biles has even referred to Miller saying, This is mini-me, showing the special nature of their friendship. Their bond has only deepened with time, and the two are often spotted together, laughing and causing mischief with their delightful shenanigans.
From competition bets to gym training vlogs to GRWM videos on TikTok and beating each other up, fans can’t get enough of this wholesome friendship. The adorable Thanksgiving update showed the important roles they play in each other’s lives and highlighted the genuine gratitude they share for their enduring friendship.

Simone Biles looked loved up as she reunited with husband Jonathan Owens this Thanksgiving.

Sharing sweet snaps of the two on her Instagram story, the couple indulged in a Thanksgiving feast as they spent precious time together

The gymnast shared a long panning video of their feast with the caption: “Um yes”. The video showed a glorious spread, which included mountains of mashed potatoes, meats and green beans. Simone also posted a boomerang of the couple clinking pumpkin shaped cups to show they were happy together, which Simone captioned: “Thankful for you baby”.

This precious time together seemed the perfect way to celebrate Jonathan’s first ever career touchdown for the Green Bay Packers as he started as a strong safety for the Wisconsin-based team in May this year.

Simone made it clear that she was thankful for the time she was spending with her husband by further uploading two more pictures with the football star.

The Olympic champion, 26, has made it clear this year how difficult she’s found the time they have spent long distance, as she’s posted on social media how much she missed her husband.

She revealed to Hoda Kotb in an interview on the Today Show earlier this year that the couple “cherish the moments that we get together.” She added that Jonathan is “doing great out in Green Bay.”

“At least we’re both busy and focusing on our respective sports. It’s been nice.”

After three years of dating, Simone and Jonathan got married in April earlier this year, but they only had a matter of weeks of marital bliss before the football star signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers that saw him move across the country.

The couple share what time they have together with their ardent fans, as they’ve shared many photos of each other, including a cute fall photoshoot. The sporty duo were pictured walking through the orange leaves on a crisp fall day, holding hands – the epitome of marital bliss.

Besides being married and supporting her man in his new team, Simone has had a busy year competing. She won her eighth national title, becoming the oldest woman to win the all-rounder title at 26 years and 166 days old, as well as breaking the record of Al Jochim, who won seven national titles.

She also won an unprecedented gold medal at the World Championships, cementing her status as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

Jospeh Parker looks to announce himself on the big stage once again when he faces American knockout artist, Deontay Wilder.

The heavyweight from New Zealand won the vacant WBO World Title against Andy Ruiz Jr back in 2016 and would defend it twice before losing to Anthony Joshua.

He has since fallen short against both Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce, but built up three wins this year to set him up for Wilder.

What Wilder has over Parker in power, he absolutely lacks in activity. The man from Alabama has fought just once in the last two years, and that lasted all of one round.

Despite the potential ring rust, former super-middleweight champion Carl Froch believes that Wilder will add a 43rd knockout to his record.

Heavyweights were in talks previously before Ngannou instead chose to fight Tyson Fury

DEONTAY WILDER is in “ongoing” talks to fight Francis Ngannou – and the pair could collide in a never-seen-before set of rules.

Ngannou walked out on the UFC to sign with rivals the Professional Fighters League, who gave him the green light to also pursue boxing.

The Cameroonian was in negotiations to fight Wilder but he instead agreed a deal with Tyson Fury for a crossover clash in Saudi Arabia.

Ngannou, 37, amazingly dropped Fury, 35, but was controversially beaten by split-decision on the scorecards.

The ex-UFC champion now wants to wait for a rematch after Fury’s undisputed showdown with Oleksandr Usyk, 36, on February 17.

So it paves the way for Ngannou to make a return to MMA in his next fight, also marking his debut in the PFL.

PFL CEO Peter Murray has named Wilder as a potential opponent and confirmed talks will continue with the American boxer.

Murray said: “Absolutely, ongoing. I’m going to see Deontay next week and we want the four-ounce gloves on him with Francis in the cage.”

Wilder has in the past called for a two-fight deal with Ngannou, to meet in the ring and cage.

But Murray has teased that a mixed-rules bout could be agreed in a bid to level up the playing field, a hybrid never before seen.

He said: “We’re working through those details.

“I mean it’s a fight that Francis wants, it’s a fight we believe Deontay wants and we’re focussed on putting it together.”

Wilder, 38, first returns on December 23 in Saudi Arabia against New Zealander Joseph Parker, 31.

Anthony Joshua, 34, is also in action that night against Otto Wallin, 32, in the hopes of building towards a blockbuster with Wilder next year.

But Murray still believes Ngannou could face Wilder in his next bout despite the mega-money boxing moves.

He said: “I think as relates to the next fight, yeah a Wilder is much more likely. That is our goal.”

Lennox Lewis, the iconic British boxer, has cautioned Tyson Fury in anticipation of his unified bout against Oleksandr Usyk. Fury faced a significant challenge in Riyadh against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who was making his debut in the boxing ring. Ngannou sent the undefeated champion to the canvas in the third round with a well-timed left hook. Despite a close call, Fury managed to rise from the canvas, securing a highly disputed split decision victory.

“That definitely wasn’t in the script,” Fury said in the post-fight interview, continuing: “Francis is a hell of a fighter, strong, a big puncher, and a lot better boxer than we all thought he would ever be.” Lewis was one of the few spectators who had Fury winning the fight; however, he had spoken out about his fellow British heavyweight before his clash with the Ukrainian unified world champion in February

In remarks shared the evening following Fury vs. Ngannou, the former undisputed heavyweight champion expressed that Fury appeared markedly different from his previous performances.

“So let’s talk about last night. I think both Fury and Ngannou surprised everyone, but for two different reasons. Fury looked nothing like the man in the trilogy against Wilder. Ngannou by far exceeded most ppl’s expectations. Basically, Ngannou won the night. Fury won the fight.”

Responding to a query about whether Fury was on the decline, Lewis disagreed but cautioned him against entering the ring underprepared for the upcoming challenge against Usyk.

“No… but i don’t think he went thru a full camp either. Better not make that mistake against Usyk,” Lewis

Weeks before Fury stepped into the ring for a 10-round non-title bout against Ngannou, he a deal for a highly anticipated clash for heavyweight supremacy against Usyk. Following the announcement of the decision in Fury’s favor, Usyk entered the ring, setting the stage for their upcoming showdown.

Despite the looming battle, Fury seems to be downplaying Usyk’s threat, asserting that Ngannou presented a tougher challenge due to his size. “He’s a smaller man than Francis; I always said Francis was a much more dangerous fight than Oleksandr.”

Usyk, a 36-year-old Olympic gold medalist and former undisputed cruiserweight champion, currently holds the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles, which he secured in a 2021 victory over Anthony Joshua. He defeated Joshua a second time and defended his titles against Daniel Dubois earlier this year.

Many people have started asking questions of Tyson Fury in light of his last fight, and one Hall of Famer is now doubting his chin.

Lineal and WBC champion Fury remains unbeaten in the ring and has often breezed through fights. It was his defining trilogy with American heavy hitter Deontay Wilder that really put him on a pedestal as the best heavyweight out there because he showed skill, heart and determination by the bucket load to come through with two wins and one much-disputed draw.

Since then he has had more prosaic wins against fellow Brits like Derek Chirsoa and Dillian Whyte which only heightened his reputation. However, an October showdown with Francis Ngannou in which the boxing novice managed to push Fury across all 10 rounds and even knocked him down in the third means people are now starting to question if he has peaked.

Fury has fought 35 times in his career and won 24 of those by knockout, but has himself been knocked down seven times in all. On each occasion, he has risen from the canvas.

Fury may well have to call on his chin and famous powers of recovery when he faces Oleksandr Usyk on February 17.

Billy Joe Saunders has warned Tyson Fury that he could be set for the fight of his life – at least for three or four rounds.

Fury sure has had some battles both in and out of the ring. Most famously his up-and-down trilogy with Deontay Wilder saw both men hit the canvas multiple times.

The Brit famously rose like The Undertaker in iconic fashion in the first fight to battle to a much-contested draw, then stopped Wilder in the ensuing two fights to win and retain his WBC crown in thrilling fashion.

Since then he has had more straightforward wins over countrymen Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora, but last time out was pushed much harder than he could have predicted by former UFC champion but boxing novice, Francis Ngannou.

Next up is the much anticipated and historic battle for all four belts with Oleksandr Usyk out in Saudi Arabia on February 17.

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is hoping to schedule a fight for Anthony Joshua in Africa.

Two-time former unified world heavyweight champion Joshua’s last two bouts have been held at The O2 Arena in London.

Those contests followed consecutive losses to current WBA, IBF and WBO champ Oleksandr Usyk in Tottenham and Saudi Arabia.

The 34-year-old will next take on Swedish fighter Otto Wallin, again in Saudi, on December 23.

Hearn is eager for a future dust-up to take place in Africa.

He told BBC World Service’s Newsday: “It’s something that would be iconic for the sport.

“When we’re visiting these countries, there’s government funding to stage these events.

“Sometimes that isn’t forthcoming in all areas but there have been discussions and I think it will happen in time.”

One of the most high-profile boxing events of all time took place in Africa in 1974, when Muhammad Ali and George Foreman entered the ropes in Zaire, now Democratic Republic of Congo.

Hearn is hoping to replicate the global appeal of that contest — billed as the Rumble in the Jungle — with Joshua the marquee name.

The Matchroom chairman added: “With that [50th] anniversary approaching, we’ve often talked about a big Anthony Joshua fight — even revisiting the famous scenes in Zaire of the Rumble in the Jungle.

“We’ve had a couple of approaches. Obviously, Anthony Joshua — with his Nigerian descent — is always keen to visit and stage a major event there.

“Visually, it would be incredible and something Anthony would love to tick off the box before the end of his career.”
