Terence Crawford reacts to Errol Spence’s injury excuse in undisputed title fight

The pair are linked with a rematch.

Unified world welterweight champion Terence Crawford does not seem too impressed with an Instagram post from Errol Spence Jr.

Crawford and Spence met in one of last year’s biggest fights when they went head-to-head in Las Vegas for the undisputed welterweight title.

Many were expecting it to be a closely fought affair, but what transpired was someone no one expected. Crawford dominated the contest from start to finish with the Nebraska man knocking down Spence three times before the fight was brought to an end in the ninth round.

Now six months after the July contest, Spence has announced that he has undergone successful cataract surgery and claims that this problem played a part in his loss to Crawford.

“Why you think I got hit with so many jabs and hooks? Still a great performance by bro,” Spence wrote on his Instagram story.

Since this revelation, Crawford issued a simple “No comment,” response on his X account.

Neither fighter has stepped into the ring since the undisputed clash, but it’s expected that Crawford and Spence will meet in a rematch at some point in 2024 either at welterweight or light middleweight.
